Understanding How We Grade Your Listing Quality
The Listing Optimizer evaluates your Airbnb listings using global heuristics—best practices derived from thousands of high-performing listings across markets. These heuristics reflect what factors have historically driven higher visibility, engagement, and bookings on Airbnb.
Each listing is analyzed across multiple components such as title, description, photos, amenities, and guest experience. Based on these, you receive:
- An overall quality score (0–10)
- A letter grade (A–D) that summarizes your listing’s health and performance potential.
This grading helps you quickly identify where your listings stand and what needs attention to improve visibility and conversions.
How We Calculate Your Score
Your Overall Quality Score is a weighted average of all individual component scores. Each factor carries a different weight depending on its impact on guest decision-making and Airbnb ranking visibility.
Component | Description |
Title Score | Evaluates clarity, keyword richness, and length. |
Description Score | Assesses relevance, completeness, and tone. |
Image Score | Reviews image quality, cover image, composition, and order. |
Consistency Score | Measures alignment across listing details. |
Guest Favorites Score | Identifies inclusion of guest-loved amenities. |
Review Summary Score | Analyzes tone and consistency in guest reviews. |
Review Rating Score | Quantifies your average star rating. |
Amenities Score | Tracks number and quality of listed amenities. |
Each of these component scores is normalized to a 10-point scale. The weighted average is then mapped to a grade:
Grade | Meaning |
A | Excellent — Your listing follows global best practices and is optimized for guest engagement and Airbnb visibility. |
B | Good — Your listing performs well but could benefit from minor improvements to reach excellence. |
C | Needs Review — Certain areas need attention; addressing recommendations can lead to visible improvement in bookings. |
D | Low — Listing quality is significantly below best-performing standards; immediate optimization is recommended. |
N/A | Not Available — Data missing. |
Why It Matters
Your listing grade is not just a quality indicator—it reflects your likelihood of attracting bookings and ranking higher on Airbnb. Listings with A or B grades typically:
- Appear more frequently in search results.
- Convert better due to stronger visual and textual appeal.
- Earn higher review ratings and have higher guest satisfaction.
Conversely, listings with C or D grades often lack optimization in titles, photos, or guest amenities, directly affecting visibility and occupancy.
