With the new Live Excel Formulas feature in Report Builder, you can now create custom columns and apply dynamic formulas directly inside your reports — no need to export to Excel or rebuild your metrics manually each week.
This update allows you to perform real-time calculations and build personalized KPIs such as Net Revenue, Outperformance Flags, or any other custom metric, all within Report Builder.
Before You Start
This feature is available in Report Builder custom templates only.
All edits and formulas are auto-saved as soon as you make them.
Benefits
Previously, you needed to export reports to Excel to calculate additional metrics — making analysis static and time-consuming. With Live Excel Formulas, you can now:
Build custom KPIs and derived metrics directly in Report Builder.
Keep your analysis live and continuously updated.
Eliminate manual work from maintaining Excel-based dashboards.
Stay fully within the PriceLabs ecosystem — no more exporting and rebuilding.
This improvement greatly enhances workflow efficiency and makes Report Builder a more flexible, all-in-one reporting solution.
How to Use Live Formulas
Open Your Custom Template
Navigate to Report Builder
You can either open an existing custom template or create a new one.
Add a New Column
Click on the “Add Columns” button to insert a blank column in your report grid.
Rename the Column
Double-click the column header to rename it to your preferred metric (e.g., Net Revenue, Outperformance Flag, Margin %).
Enter a Formula
In any cell of the new column, add your formula such as:
Once you hit Enter, the formula automatically applies to all rows in that column:
Note: We recommend that you click on the metric fields manually for dynamic population. If a formula is entered manually (e.g., M3+N3), this constant value will be applied across the entire column due to a current limitation. But if you just choose the columns using arrows or mouse, the referenced column name is used.
