The Adjacent Factor customization allows users to adjust prices for the days before and after a booking, helping to either encourage or discourage back-to-back reservations. This feature is useful for managing gaps between bookings and optimizing revenue based on operational needs.
Before You Start
Can be applied within a range of 1 to 30 days.
Adjusted rates take effect after the next sync, which happens automatically overnight. If you want to sync the new prices immediately, click Save & Refresh and Sync Now.
By default, Adjacent Factor does not apply to weekends, but you can enable Also apply on weekends manually.
Benefits of Adjacent Factor
Helps prevent unbooked gaps between reservations by applying a discount.
Allows users to increase rates to discourage same-day turnovers, which can be useful for large properties with higher cleaning costs.
Can be combined with Orphan Day and Last-Minute pricing rules for advanced pricing control.
Steps to Apply Adjacent Factor
On the Pricing Dashboard, click Review Prices on the desired listing, then click Edit under Customizations.
Under the All Customizations tab, select Adjacent Factor and turn on the toggle.
On the dropdown, choose whether to apply a Fixed or Percent Adjustment.
Enter the desired adjustment percentage, specify if this is a discount or premium, and how many days before or after a booking the adjustment should apply.
(Optional) Tick "Also apply on weekends" if you want this customization to affect weekend pricing.
Save changes.
How Adjacent Factor Interacts with Other Discounts/Premiums
When combined with Orphan Day or Last-Minute pricing, PriceLabs follows these rules:
If multiple discounts apply, the largest discount is used.
If multiple premiums apply, all premiums are stacked together.
If a mix of discounts and premiums apply, the system applies:
The largest discount + the premium.
If there is one discount and two premiums, both premiums apply.
Rates will only adjust after a sync—if a booking happens early in the day, the Adjacent Factor will apply during the next automatic sync or immediately if a manual sync is triggered.
Adding a premium makes adjacent days less attractive, but it does not guarantee that they won’t be booked.
